INCENSE STICKS FOR BRAIN
Religious leaders have contended for millennia that burning incense is good for the soul. Now, biologists have learned that it is good for our brains too. An international team of scientist, including researchers from John Hopkins University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, describe how burning frankincense, resin from the Boswelia plant, activates poorly understood ion channels in the brain to alleviate anxiety or depression. This suggests that an entirely new class of depression and anxiety drugs might be right under our nose. “In spite of information stemming from ancient texts, constituents of Boswelia had not been investigated for psycho activity.” Said Raphel Mechoulam, one of the research study’s co-authors.
Apparently most present day worshippers assume that incense burning has only a symbolic meaning.” To determine incense’s psychoactive affects, the researchers administered incensole acetate to mice. They found that the compound significantly affected areas in brain areas known to be involving din emotions as well as in nerve circuits that are affected by current anxiety and depression drugs.

WEDDED TO WORK
The Blackberry is probably one of the most important management tools of the 21st century corporate world. At least, so believe corporate bigwigs.
There is a no running away from work, office and targets. Technology has certainly blurred the line between home and office.
And thereby, it has created a whole new generation of workaholics.
The eight hour work day is a passé. It’s normal to find professionals working for more than 14 hours at a stretch. Office has become the new home for many in globalised India. And the PCs at the work place have become more powerful than ever before.
But in additional to this, most workaholics also suffer from a lot o of physical and psychological problems.
Work alcoholics are not able to give time to their family. And that definitely creates psychological problems. Thanks to their long working hours, most of them also suffer from hypertension. acidity and other health problems. It’s essential to strike a balance between work and life.
Remember all work and no play will leave Jack a lonely lost man!!!!!!

GRAPHIC PASSWORDS
For those who struggle to remember their passwords and bankj pins it could be the answer to their prayers. New software has been developed for the latest mobile phones and handheld computers which uses pictures instead of letters and numbers for security codes. The idea could be expanded into other areas, as the images will be harder than text passwords to copy by fraudsters, and easier to remember
The graphical passwords are drawn over a background, such as a photo of a flower, a map, a playing card ro the night sky. The computer remembers the number of pen stroke used, where the image was started and the order in which they were made. The system allows users to create passwords which are much more complex than the traditional numeric or alphabetical versions.
The best ones tend to be images such as playing cards. The new system will require a little more effort for people to set up their passwords , but once that is done we are confident that people , other than criminals, will find it easier to use.

WAL-MART & BHARTI JOINT VENTURE
At a time when Bharti Enterprises is ready to kick off operations in partnership with global retail giant Wal-Mart , industry experts feel that the joint venture ( JV ) will provide an excellent learning ground to the US – based company in India.
Considering the unsuccessful track record of Wal-Mart in major international markets, experts feel that the partnership provides a learning opportunity for the global retailer.
Wal-Mart will use the partnership to closely study India. This partnership will be critical as the US retail giant has failed in countries like China., Japan, South Korea and Germany. Also Bharti will probably be a senior partner, which will help Wal –Mart learn in India.
Bharti will benefit from the latter’s international experience and technical know-how.
Planet Retail provides retail database and solutions to around 12,000 clients across the globe, including Reliance Retail. Hypercity and Vishal Retail in India.
Commenting on Wal-Mart’s business model, Paul said, the company first enters a country in partnership with any of the local players and later acquires other domestic companies to set up independent operations.
On Wal- Mart‘s course of action in India, Paul said, “it was not likely to acquire Bharti, because even the indian company was strong enough. So, first Wal-Mart will study the market and then might go on its own.”

THE GREENS SHOULD LOVE IT

For what everybody has gathered to see at Hall No 11 in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi is not just another small car, they came to see hope emerge on wheels “ The Nano” car as street people have already named it “ lakhatia car” costing just Rs. 1 lakh only
As Ratan Tata himself said later in the day, it was the image of a lower middle class man on a scooter, the elder kid standing in front of the driving father and the wife riding pillion with a baby on her lap that kept playing on his mind. “Why cant this family own a car?”.
The Nano Car is a properly thought out design, efficiently packaged so as to use just so much material and no more, is safe, has a modern yet simple driver train that should deliver performance as intended, can seat four in comfort, has all weather, protection, is contemporarily styled, fuel efficient and spews tail pipe emissions lower than some two wheelers.
The Nano Car has a monovolume style but with clever thought to enhance useable occupant space while reducing the overall length to occupy even lesser space on the road.
At just a shade over 3 meters in length and 1.5 meters wide, this car has bright future for middle class in India who were still clinging to scooter.
In future, one shall find more cars and fewer scooters.
Best luck from crowded road in India, to this Nano Car.
